Twenty years ago, Talitha Kum Children’s Home was founded on a simple yet profound belief: that every child deserves love, care, and a future filled with hope. Through the years, this home has been a living testimony of God’s unfailing love, shaping the lives of countless children and inspiring a community to walk in faith and service.
There are people we encounter in our journey through the noise of life and the chaos of days, who remain in our memory-never leaving, never fading. They are like medicine for the soul; their presence soothes pain, and their smiles heal wounds unseen by others but ourselves alone.
They pass through our lives without us realising the depth of their impact, accumulated over the years. When our steps falter and the days bring sorrow, they appear like a glimmer of light, reminding us that darkness is but a passing phase. They do not need many words; their mere presence is enough. Within them lies a sea of silence, holding the secrets that healing words are needed to speak of pain that cannot be seen. Such people quietly find their way into our souls, entering without permission and leaving without us knowing. And while we search for a remedy for the mind and spirit, we realise they are the cure itself. As if they were sent to erase every disappointment, to cleanse the heart of every burden

Such people quietly find their way into our souls, entering without permission and leaving without us knowing”
They are like hidden joy, nestled between hope and resilience, allowing you to see life from a different perspective, where nothing is impossible.
They are hope in times of despair, dreams in moments of harsh reality.
They are more than just people; they are life in its purest form, breathing beauty and spreading it into every corner of our existence. When the world is cruel, and everyone seems to let you down, remember, they will always be there.
They may not speak of the pain they have endured, but you can see.
They are a comforting presence in a world full of pretence, like a lost traveller who has finally found his way after a journey. We do not seek miracles, for when they are around, because in our different services at the Home, we have witnessed many of them.
They are like remedies for deep wounds, witnessed by me and many others. It is as if God has sent these vulnerable children specially to echo humility, love and self-giving as enshrined in our vision for the home. In a world overwhelmed by noise, we need these people more than ever.
They are the ones who emerge on the horizon when the sky is heavy with clouds. These are the people who remain in our hearts long after the details of the days have faded. And you need not express your gratitude to them, for they already understand that their presence is all you ever needed.
And in the end, when life draws to a close, the mark of these people will remain within you. You will realize that you lived for those moments of comfort in their presence, and your soul will find peace knowing that they crossed your path. They were the healing of the soul, and how wonderful it would be to meet them once again.
Above are our sentiments as an institution which has had that special moments to serve these beautiful angels. We have gathered our contributions for this write up from encounters while serving them at the home and outside when conducting home visits; either in preparing them to be admitted at the home or continuous routine home visits. I thank God for using us, shaping our life and giving us an opportunity to give back.
As the pages of the vulnerable children care systems turn to a new chapter of the care reform systems we wish to urge you brothers and sisters to be so vigilant, love and appreciate the vulnerable children. We would urge you to do likewise. That is the good work that children centered homes have been doing perpetuate it and carry it out in a better way.
For the communities that have supported us over the years, we would say grazie mille, never tire in doing good, continue supporting us even as we head to the new direction of children care systems. Do likewise also….
